Storyboards were due today, March 6th. Many of you haven't turned them in, and you need to do so right away.
Overall, your stop-motion project will be due on Wednesday & Friday, March 28th & 30th. Since so many of you are going to be gone to Dublin, Ireland, that is the reason for the early turn in date.
I will be checking for work progress on Tuesday the 20th. You should have approximately 50% of your work finished at this point. Audio is not needed at that time, although you will need audio, either in the form or score, sound effects or music for your final project.
This week the primary objective of our Stop-Motion project is to complete our Storyboards. Your storyboard is a rough draft, almost always drawn by hand, of how your video is going to look. This storyboard is due on Friday the 24th.
We don't have class on Friday the 24th since most of you will be at GEMUN, so you will have to hand it in beforehand.
We don't have class next week, due to Ski Week, so we will resume class the week of March 5th thru 9th. You should start working on principal photography of your project that week.
Here are our Stop Motion Groups.
1. Ottavia & Lucrezia
2. Nicole
3. Jackie
4. Stefano & Michele
5. George, Abi & Ricky
6. Mattia
7. Sophie & Maddy
8. Victor
9. Danny, Charlie & Umbi.
Our first project for 3rd Quarter is to make stop motion videos.
Each person is responsible for 30 seconds of stop motion. Thus, if you choose to work by yourself, you have to create a 30 second video. If you are in a group of 2 then 1 minute. If you are in a group of 3 then 1.5 minutes.
You should use iMovie to put together your video. This will be your easiest and best choice to put together your pictures into a video. Please note that iMovie uses 10 pictures per second of stop motion, thus take your time x by 10 and that is how many pictures you will have to take.
Assignments: Your FIRST Assignment in this is to Investigate other Stop Motion Videos out there. For this part, you will have to find 7 - 10 videos that are similar in style to what you want to create or are inspiring to you. Each example should have a small 1 paragraph write-up included that tells what you find particularly interesting or inspiring about that video.
To turn in this assignment, create a page on your website called "Stop Motion Project" and embed the 10 videos on it. Include the small paragraph under each video regarding your thoughts on the video. (Make sure, that if you are in a group, include all your group members names on that project page!) When you're done with that, simply send me an email with the URL Link to your Stop Motion Project page.
Assignment # 1: Due by Friday, February 17th. Assignment # 2: Create a Storyboard for your movie. This part is all about Planning and Designing. We've talked about storyboards before so I know you are familiar with them. You need to turn in a storyboard of your movie by Friday, February 24th. This can be done either by hand with paper and pencil, or you can create it digitally. It is your choice.
Today we are going to start working on our movies, and make sure we got our plans down for next week and beyond.
_Today we are going to start a project making an interactive game on the web. We are going to use the Sploder website to create a game that is both challenging and fun to play. We will explore how to make the games today, check out other creations and generally learn how to interact with the game creation engine.
The final game that each student creates will be due on Friday, January 20th. We will spend the time in class working on the project, showing our creations to our peers and receiving feedback.
The initial proposal for your game is due on Tuesday, December 20th. You will have to include:- The type of game
- Overview of the game
- Goals
- Objectives
- Controls
- Obstacles
- Enemies
- How many levels
- How to win
- Difficulty
- Your "hook". (Or why this game is so fun? What will draw people to play it?
_Your proposal should answer all these questions and can be within an email to Mr. Z. Your subject line of the email should read: 10 - Lastname, Firstname - Game Proposal
Good luck. I expect to see some imaginative creations!
Today we are going to see who the Top Dog is for the best Flashcard Sets! We will be demonstrating some of the best Flashcard Sets and see who created the best.
Today is your last day to finalize and check out your Flashcard Sets before turning them in.
